Privacy policy

I believe local journalism should respect your privacy. Newport Stories is built to collect as little information about readers as possible. There are no user accounts, no comment system, no advertising networks, and no hidden tracking built into the site.

If you contact me

If you send an email, I will use the information you provide only to respond to you, follow up on a story, or assess any information, tip-offs, or documents you choose to share. I will never sell your contact details or share them with third parties unless required by law.

Analytics and embeds

I do not use invasive tracking tools to monitor readers. If I ever introduce analytics, they will be privacy-focused, limited to understanding how the site is used, and this page will be updated to explain exactly what is collected and why.

Third-party services

I aim to minimise the use of third-party services wherever possible. If features are added in future that rely on external providers, I will be transparent about what data is shared and for what purpose.

A simple principle

You should be able to read local news without being profiled, tracked across the web, or asked to hand over personal information. That is the standard I intend to maintain for Newport Stories.
